Welcome home.

Welcome to Burrow Cott, a peaceful traditional Cornish cottage tucked away in St Breock. With 3 cosy bedrooms suitable for up to 4 adults and 2 children, a warm and inviting living/dining space, and an outdoor courtyard with BBQ and firepit, it’s the perfect base for families, couples or small groups looking to relax and explore North Cornwall.

Bedrooms

All three bedrooms are designed with comfort in mind:

Master: A spacious super-king room with a wardrobe, a cosy armchair for reading, and a window seat overlooking the courtyard - the perfect spot for a slow morning coffee.

Bedroom 2: This flexible room can be set up as either a super-king or twin. It has a double wardrobe and a window seat that looks out over the courtyard.

Bedroom 3: A welcoming space with full-size bunk beds suitable for kids and teens, a chest of drawers/desk, and a Samsung Art TV that doubles as a work-from-home screen. There’s also a PlayStation 4 and an office chair. The window overlooks the rear footpath, and a blackout blind ensures a good night’s sleep.

Living Space

Living & Dining Room
Settle into the soft sofas - there’s space for six - all centred around the crackling wood-burning stove. It’s the perfect spot to unwind after a day on the coast. There’s a 32" Samsung Art TV for cosy film nights, and a dining table that comfortably seats six for long, lazy suppers.

Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, from Cornishware crockery to a good selection of cookware, oils, herbs and spices. You’ll find an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, kettle, and a generous 10kg washing machine with 6kg dryer - ideal for sandy beach days or muddy moorland walks.
(Just a note: there’s no dishwasher and the fridge/freezer is a small undercounter size, suitable for a few bags of shopping.)

Bathroom

The bathroom is designed for long, relaxing soaks after a day on the coast. There’s a deep bathtub, perfect for unwinding, as well as a multi-head rainfall shower for those who prefer something revitalising. Soft, fluffy towels and essential toiletries are provided, along with a hairdryer for convenience. Due to the restrictive height of our ceilings, leisurely baths recommended for those taller than 5ft 8”.

Courtyard

The courtyard is a calm space designed for slow mornings and relaxed evenings. Sink into the outdoor sofas around the gas fire pit, enjoy lingering meals at the rustic dining table for six, or fire up the BBQ for supper at home.

There’s also an outdoor bathtub and rainfall shower with hot and cold water - perfect for sandy dogs, salty feet or a refreshing soak in the sunshine.

Just to note: the courtyard is private for your sole use, however Burrow Cott is in a row of similar cottages with neighbours.

Important things to note.

Layout: Burrow Cott is over 500 years old and full of character, which also means it’s compact! Bedrooms open directly onto the stairs, and ceiling heights are lower than in modern homes. The stairs are steep and may not be suitable for young children or those with mobility issues.

CCTV: A ring doorbell covers the keybox for security - this is the only camera on the property. You can use the courtyard entrance once you’ve collected the key.

Access: Parking is communal around the village green. There’s also a shared footpath behind the cottage where the key safe is located, but once you’ve collected the key, you can use the main courtyard entrance from the road for the rest of your stay.

Village setting: Burrow Cott is in the centre of St Breock, a traditional Cornish village. The cottage sits in a row of similar homes - it’s not isolated and has neighbours, but the courtyard is private and for your use only.

Dogs: The cottage is dog-friendly, and most of our neighbours have dogs too. They're generally very well-behaved pets, though two are working sheepdogs next door who stay in outdoor kennels overnight whilst not at work in the surrounding farmland - they are very courteous four-legged neighbours - we rarely hear them unless someone gets too close to their kennels.

Local life: Unlike Padstow or Port Isaac, St Breock isn’t a holiday resort — it’s a working village, home to local families. That means you may see neighbours or dog walkers pass by (and possibly have a friendly chat — Cornish locals are known for it!).
